Tire Pressure Monitoring question....

Hi all,

So, I go to get in my 997.1 this AM to drive to work like I do everyday and there is a code in the dash screen saying the drivers side front tire is -4.

So, bummed out, I get in my SUV and drive to work.

When I get home tonight I will add air to the tire and get it back to where it belongs.

My question is: What do I do next? I see that there is a "store" function under TPM...do I hit the store function and then drive the car until it actually stores the new pressure (this is what I do for my SUV) or does it just "store" the new tire pressure without actually having to drive the car?

As always, thank you all in advance,

Steve

Just put some air in the tire and drive around a bit. The error code should clear itself. No need to do anything else. Best,

Be sure to check your air pressure with a good gauge. I found that the TPMS on my last car consistently read about 3 PSI too low, so when it thought I was -4 lbs, it was actually only about 1 pound under my desired pressure. You may have to add a few pounds over your ideal pressure to get the system to clear itself (which may take a few miles or even more than one trip). After it clears, you should be able to bleed off any extra pressure without getting another warning message. I really wished the system gave you more control over settings and alarm levels, and I don't miss it on my current car.

Didnt even have to drive around at all...put the pressures in that I wanted, started the car and the TPMS automatically updated it and zeroed it out...

33f and 39r

Thanks all for your help!
