Keep it black.....use 2 layers of electrical tape wrapped from the front and around the bottom to the back side of the lip. Then put a layer of black duct tape over the electrical tape. This will protect you against most scrapes. Be sure to use electrical tape as the first layers. You don't want the duct tape glue touching the front side of the lip!

you believe this will hold in the rainy spring? I was thinking of trying to fit an aluminum strip under the underside of the plastic lip and screw/rivet it. I think 1 center piece and 1 at each corner will work. I live in NYC, there is no way I wont scrape this thing everyday.
