PCM Phone Function. How to use it?

I have an 06 C4 w/ the PCM/ Navigation system and just recently discovered there's a slot for my phone. (lol I dont drive my car very much! )

Anyways, I have T-mobile, and it seems to be very tidious to swap the SIM card from my phone to the PCM everytime Im in the car. What have you guys done to be able to use this function of the phone? (I don't even know if putting my SIM in will work).

Please advice.

Take a look at your manual. There is a procedure for transferring your phone book to the PCM and pairing the phone. If that doesn't work I'm sure someone on here with a 997.1 will help.

If you don't have the manual I believe it is online.

I have the same feature. Unfortunately, unlike in Germany, US cellphone companies won't dupe your SIM card, so the best option is off the table.

I ended up buying a prepaid SIM card from Cingular, mostly just to get the annoying No SIM Card message off the PCM screen. Popped it in and it works fine, but it doesn't have my contacts, so I have to look those up on my phone before I dial.

When I go on very long drives, if I want the full address book in the PCM, I can just swap it out.

Make sure you have option code:"666Telephone module". If so swap out the the sim card from your cell phone & make sure it works. You can then buy a new prepaid sim card from T-Mobile & pay as you go. You will have a new phone #. Also it is cheaper to buy from T-Mobile online then in the store.

Yeah - just because you have the slot doesn't mean you have the option. Also, you can buy a Cingular starter GSM SIM card at Best Buy for $10 then refill when needed.

The cingular sim doesn't work in all locales. Be sure and check before you buy a Cingular card or add an additional line.

Here in Oklahoma I had to use the Tmobile prepaid sim. Tmobile card works great. I just forward my cell phone to the Porsche. As said before, no contact list. But, I don't like to talk on the phone and drive anyway.

It really helps if you have a multifunction wheel to make and receive phone calls. Plus you can mute the radio/cd but the speakers still work for nav and the phone.

Just noticed that you have a Tmobile account. It may be cheaper to add an extra phone line to your existing account.
