997.2 interior option: centre-console in piano-black

Ever since I bought it with this option, I knew at some point it would end up looking scuffed with light swirl or scratch marks from a watch, or whatever.

It's a piano-black like finish and high-gloss. This would lend itself to scratches and I wanted to know how to get rid of them; should I use a cut & polish to get rid of them and then use some kind of protectant like a wax / polymer coating to protect it in future? Ideas please

Thanks, H
