Interior Vent Clip Broken

Just brought my CPO 997 to the dealer. The interior vent clip is broken, so that you need to use a pen to move the fins. I have the little "T" piece. I read on Rennlist and other sites how to remove the interior vents above the radio...but really wasn't able to get them out. I see a small little silver clip with a hole in it coming down from the top inside the vent. There are one of these on each vent. Do I need to pull these down at the same time to remove the vent? I tried one at a time and it didn't budge. Even if I get the vent out, and unplug the hazard button, will I be able to fix the plastic fin or should I reside myself to use a pen like I did in my 1972 Pinto to move the fins????
thanks,
Marc

I recently removed the side vent left of the steering wheel. Yes, you need to use insert a sharp rigid instrument into the holes in those tabs and pull them down while you pull the unit towards you. They are spring clips that lock the unit in place. I don't know anything about the part you want to repair. But you could likely just purchase a new vent unit if necessary. Good luck.
