Unstable at speed/feels loose

I've got an '09 C4S Cab with 23K miles on it. Got new Pirelli P-Zero Rosso's at 15K miles.

Lately there has been a ton of road noise, but what worries me more is that there's also vibration in the steering wheel and you can feel it throughout the whole car. It doesn't feel as stable at high speeds as it used to, maybe a little bit loose. Even at 55-70mph on the highway it has a little shuddery feel. I miss how smooth and stable it used to feel.

Any thoughts on the problem before I take it in to the dealer??

Thanks,
Casey

Alignment issue or suspension not well calibrated. I had the same problem with my car due to the horrible manhattan roads full of potholes. I got the tire aligned and suspension recalibrated and car is back to being perfect.

yeah. my bet is on the alignment too, unless you hit a curb and bent your suspension parts or wheels..

Our cars are sensitive to alignment and wheel balance (especially if drive on poor roads with potholes & cracks.)

When was the last time you had an alignment (plus wheel balance) done on your car? Did you do that when you put new tires on it at 15K miles?

Have your alignment and wheels checked (and corrected if applicable), and see if it cures the problem.

Regards,

Last time I had alignment and wheel balance was when I got new tires at 15K miles. It's winter so it's been driven on some bad roads since. Will get it checked out this week.

Thanks for the help!

Casey

Definitely check the wheel balance as well, winter driving might also lead to some dirt accumulated inside the wheel wall and throw the wheel-balance off.

While the alignment and wheel balance will address the vibration issue and potentially the loose feeling you're experiencing, the tire noise is a function of 15K miles worth of tread wear and won't go away. If the tires aren't due for replacement you'll have to live with the noise until they are.
