Porsche Financial Services - Leasing

Is Porsche Financial Services the way to go compared to their competitors for a 3 year lease? I did some comparisons, and PFS seems they are very competitive with residuals and money factors.

Lastly, does PFS nickel and dime when returning the Porsche after lease for "normal wear and tear"? Know that can be subjective. TIA.

Unless you are contemplating buying the car at the end of the lease what counts is your downstroke and payments regardless of the lender. I don't know but I'd guess that the only wear item you would really want to pay attention to (and perhaps have written in as an addendum even if they say they can't) is the tires - I had to replace my rears at 10,000 and all four at 19,000.

A week ago I saw an ad that Porsche had a 'great' rate on two (not three) year leases but did not pay attention to the details.

"Normal wear and tear"

I turned in my '09 C2S PDK launch car when I leased my new GTS.

I've only leased a couple of times before, and never before kept a car to the end of the lease so this was the first time I'd ever dealt with lease termination issues.

There were a couple of tiny chips (after two years/30K miles) on the front bumper. They charged me $350. There was a tiny, thin scratch near a taillight which could easily have been buffed out. Another $350. I thought both charges were unjustified.

And finally -- $150 for not surrendering the car with the navigation DVD in the car. Did I mention that in '09 Porsche had a hard-drive based nav system, which didn't include a DVD at all. But that's not the worst part - MY CAR DIDN'T HAVE NAV AT ALL!

I was pretty pissed off when I got the bill from PFS, but my salesman snatched it out of my hand when I went to complain and said "Give me that. WE will take care of it." Hard to stay pissed off after that. Dealer is now selling the car as a CPO on their lot without having done anything to the car except a good wash.

Bottom line: bad PFS; good dealer.
