Retro roadster look on 997

I really love the looks and genre of the older porsche roadsters and speedsters but like the functionality, performance of my 997. I have a silver C2S cab 6spd and was thinking about going with a loud exhaust (already have), fuchs style wheels, black stone guards, and red tail lamps to give it a fun, retro roadster look and feel. Is this a cool idea or would I be screwing up a modern classic by putting all these things on in combination? Thoughts??

Do it, it's your car, do what makes you feel happy. Modding is a great way to personalized to your taste. Each individual is different. You like fuchs style wheels, I personally don't, only on older Porsche's. Fuch's looks outdated for a modern 997 IMO. But who cares what I think, if you like them, get them. The most important thing is modding should be fun and should make YOU happy.

go for it. those sound like tasteful changes that should look nice, but to me, vintage 911's to me are characterized by their size and weight more than by fuchs wheels, etc. i saw a 912 parked in midtown the other day and was reminded again just how little the older 911's are.

Go for it. I really like the new Fuchs style wheels and the black stone guards will be an improvement over the so called clear ones that start yellowing after a few years. Besides, you can always change back to stock if you get tired of the new look.
