Lightbulb Airbox Bushing Upgrade on 997.1

Best $1.50 mod/upgrade you can do and in less than 10 minutes!

For those of us that change our own air filters, you know how easy it is to loose the rubber bushings the air box sits on that go through holes in body. I just recently lost one of the bushings while removing the airbox to change my filter (thing just vaporized I searched up & down in there!). I was already placing an order for some other parts and tagged on to the order two (as I thought eventually I'd loose another in the future) new rubber bushings.

When parts arrived and I went to install I noticed the new bushing was different from the original. The new bushing had notches around it to secure it to the body so it wouldn't slip out during air box removal! Fantastic!

The new bushings simply slid & clipped into the body then mounted airbox "stems" (see pic) into bushings, reattached airbox and done in under 10min!

Old part # 997.703.478.40
New Part# 999.703.267.40

Cost (ordered through Suncoast) was $.75 per bushing

This is a nice improvement. I've had to search for fallen bushings many times.

See, little by little, Porsche improves the quality of their cars.

Good hint. Thank you for posting the part numbers. I'll definitely order a set next time I place an order with Suncoast.

Thanks
Yves

Gator Skin is infamous around these parts
Hilarious. I have a post about "identify this part" from a year ago when I changed my filter. Found it on the ground a few days later and was identified by other members. I went to put it back and noticed another was gone. 4 mos later while changingn my cats, I saw it dangling from under the car and put it back. Props to Porsche for the improvement.
