"Wheel change? Input new TPC settings"

Hey guys

I recently changed the tires on my 997 Carrera.

But I get this error.

"Wheel change? Input new TPC settings!"

I realize its gotta be a simple fix but I cannot seem to get it to turn off.

How do I fix this? Do i use the onboard computer or do I use the lever that is to the left of the steering wheel to navigate the little dashboard screen?

Sorry for the dumb question..

Please PM me and I can send you a pdf version of the manual (if you don't have one) that should contain the needed information. You're correct the control arm on the lower left controls the computer settings.

u have to wait a while after u reset the TPMS using the stalk.

use the lower left stalk and push away from u to bring up a menu.

select tpms and follow the simple instruction.

then just keep driving and it will reset in 10-20 mins.

BOL

In the 2007 manual the needed info starts on pg 127 and the critical information that deals with changing tires and wheels is on pg 134. Excerpt below.

Changing a wheel and replacing tires
New wheels must be fitted with radio transmitters
for the Tire Pressure Monitoring. Before
tires are changed, the battery charge state of
the wheel transmitters should be checked at
an authorized Porsche dealer.
Switch the ignition off when changing a wheel.
The tire settings on the on-board computer must be
updated after changing a wheel.
A message appears if the characteristics of the
new tires do not agree with the on-board computer
settings.
Update the on-board computer settings when
the vehicle is stationary the next time.
Warning light
The warning light in the speedometer lights up:
– When a loss in pressure has been detected
– If the Tire Pressure Monitoring is faulty
– When learning newly mounted wheels/wheel
sensors, as long as the vehicle’s own wheels
have not yet been recognized.
The tire pressure warning light in the instrument
panel goes out only when the cause of the fault has
been rectified.
No monitoring
In the event of faults the Tire Pressure Monitoring
cannot monitor the tire pressure. The warning
light on the instrument panel lights up and a
corresponding message appears on the on-board
computer.
Monitoring is not active when:
– the Tire Pressure Monitoring is faulty,
– wheel transmitters for the Tire Pressure
Monitoring are missing,
– temporarily after changing a wheel (learning
phase),
– more than four wheel transmitters are detected,
– there is external interference by other radio
sources, e.g. wireless headphones,
– tire temperatures are too high.
Please observe the chapter ”WARNINGS
ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND THE
ON-BOARD COMPUTER” on page 143.
