how to cure Pagid brake pad noise?

Hi,

I wish to know your remedies on how to silence squelling Pagid brake noise? I go thte car with them, almost new pads. If it helps, they are yellow. i only happens after i drive for 20 minutes with the car. Basically, when the pads warm up.

Thanks for your responses.

regards

I'm not trying to be a smart a$$ but if you want to get rid of the noise, use oem pads. All racing pads, which is what a Pagid Yellow is, make noise in street use ranging from annoying squeaks to garbage truck bad squeals which is why many racers who also use their car on the street switch back and forth. It just depends on how bad you feel you need them and how much annoyance you can tolerate. Btw, Porsche makes fantastic brake systems so unless you are really a track rat with an identifiable need, you probably don't need anything else. Best.

also the pagid yellows will eat through your rotors quicker than OEM, and there is no reason to tolerate that unless you're the aforementioned "track rat"

You cant...race pads like the Yellows lack the 2 weights per pad and the compound is not suited to the street.

Actualy for driving on the street, even spirited driving and auto-cross the stock pads are better.

You will never ever get enough heat in race pads on the street for them to work properly.

Ditto

The good news is that the pads are easy to change. You can swap out stock pads for the Pagid Yellows when you change over to track tires for a track event, if that is your bag.

Otherwise you are better off with stock pads for the reasons mentioned above.

Don't bother trying new dampers, caliper lubricant, etc. It doesn't work.

I'm not sure I agree; the Pagid yellow pad noise is really an issue of modulation - try braking a bit harder and you may find that the noise issue goes away

To reduce noise, it's helpful to bevel the Pagids similar to the factory pads. I run my RS29's full time, and they seldom squeal.

While I agree that the OEM pads are better suited for DD and AX use, the Yellows CAN be used year round. Yes, they will be harder on the rotors, but (for me) track days will be the real reason the rotors require replacement.

I like the simplicity of not swapping pads. Been there, done that. And Castrol SRF extends my brake flush intervals. Perhaps I'm just turning lazier as I age :-)
