I wonder if it was done by the Hunter Road force balance machine?

Also, they swore they did not take the center caps off! They looked like Pry-marks to me too.....
Ask them how they mounted the wheels on the balancing machine without removing the center caps - ask for a demo and see what they say.

How much to mount my new tires and scratch my wheels while you do it? Absolutely would bother me and is IMHO unacceptable. Would be unacceptable on any car I own. I get it for those who say it's just a car and you like to abuse it but at least it's you doing it and not someone who obviously doesn't care and or isn't trained properly, and IMHO again is unacceptable.

Thanks guys!

I feel the same way, in that if I chipped them, it would not bother me. I mean, there are cone-scuffs all over my clear-bra, and it is cool with me. They give the car character!

But if I ever trade the car in, the dealership is going to be the first to tell me that the car is worth less because of the chips! LOL!

I was also worried that the finish would corrode there, so I wanted to make sure that it was documented. I keep my cars for 7-8 years!

I just hope they do a decent job!!

Ah, so they do remove those caps!

Why do they have to, is there something that goes there on the balancing machine??

I'd say the marks are from the hub used to tighten the wheel on the shaft of the balancer. If you keep the car for 7-8 years my guess is the paint won't match or you'll have some flaking.

At one timae this would have orders me based on who did it. Today, not so much. It sounds like you have it worked. Let us know how the PSSs work out.

I wish I felt like V35 but to be truthful it drives me crazier than it should.
I just get so tired of people being careless. They do one job and it should be correct.. It's your job... do it with pride....

Difficult to put a spindle through the hub when a center cap is in place.

Thanks j, you're the man!!!!

That is the machine they used too. I never saw one with a wheel on it. I guess I have something to show the dealer now.

I appreciate the pic!

JPSJR is infamous around these parts
Guy's those marks are from the center screw with no spacer. The installer needed a plastic spacer so the bolt would not be up against the wheel. John what dealership did it?

it was flemington porsche in NJ.

It seems that there have been other cases of this happening with the Hunter. I just did a search and saw a few rims described just like mine......

Thanks alan, I want to do a proper review of the Super Sports soon. I have 200 miles on them now and they are starting to feel right. I have an autocross soon, so that should give me some time with them. I will not be on a track with them,I am doing spec miata this year, but I want to really feel the difference between the PS2 and the SS.

John FYI, Ray Catena uses a new version of the Hunter machines, try them, they really do great work.

Huge bother 4 me. They should cover it if they were informed in a timely fashion. As a side note, Discount Tire replaced 4 wheels 4 me after I stated that I did not want a repair/repaint.
