Excellent experience with European Performances in Raleigh, NC
Guys,
After buying spark plugs for my 2006 C4S and planning to change them myself, I opt out and instead went with European Performance in Raleigh, NC.
It was my first time with that independent shop and I left the car in the morning with the plugs on the passenger seat.
I got a couple of calls from the Service manager on that morning telling me that they had found a cracked coil and one that was arching with the head. They suggested replacing them for $120, with no additional labor charge. They also checked everything, including the cabin air filter, brakes, faults etc.
When I returned in the evening I noticed a beautiful black C4S parked on their lot with the shades installed behind the windshield. The car was sparkling and completely cleaned, including the wheels and brakes. I had left my car as a filthy mess with wheels covered by brake dust.
After paying a reasonable $420 for the service, I went to the lot trying to find my car and pushed the key button. It confirmed my intuition: the shiny black C4S was mine, parked with the shade, and ready to go with front out. Entering the car, I noticed that the mats and carpets had been vacuumed, too. That was the sherry on top of the icing....really.
Now, for those who says that changing the spark plugs does not make any difference, I have to say that the plugs and the two coils replaced helped tremendously the low end torque and the smoothness of the engine. It feels like a different car and the acceleration are much more brutal and quicker than before.
Overall, as you can probably tell, I am a very happy camper and was utterly impressed by European Performances. I will return to see them in the future. For certain, the Porsche Stealer in Cary will never see me.
