Not to thread jack, but doesn't the .1 and .2 C4 and C4S have factory LSD?

In ordering my new GTS I checked the box for LSD. As a cab it's doubtful it will ever see the track, but it could arguably be considered a safety feature, and I always have thought there's something a bit more special about an LSD car. Just knowing the performance is there if you want it or need it......

IMO: if you don't track the car, the aftermarket LSD is a complete waste of money, not to mention you get increased rear tire wear. i highly doubt you'd be able to tell the difference between an LSD and non-LSD car on the street unless you push the car really really hard. also.. there is enough weight over the rear wheels (rear-engined) to be able to get decent traction to begin with on the street

I don't doubt that you're right under normal circumstances, but what about in rain, a quick avodance maneuver, or if I get unexpectedly caught in snow? I want every protection possible to keep me and my car safe.

Have you considered a Volvo? Seriously, If you want it add it to the list. It doesn't cost that much as a factory option while it can be pricey to add after delivery and may give you a larger market at resale time.

Enjoy the car.

As a matter of fact I have!
I agree, it is fairly inexpensive to order it from factory, so that's what i've done.

want the best protection? get the driver mod

if you're derping around in the super cold/snowy conditions with high summer performance tires, then no LSD or traction control will save you

Yep. Sometimes, in circumstances with limited traction, an LSD can punt you. From yesterday:

also, i wasn't aware that 997.1's came with the LSD option from factory. wasn't that the RoW models only?

No way dude. I expect to be able to drive as fast as I want under all conditions, knowing that my super-fantastic-a-number-1 Porsche will bail me out.

One questions: Do these cars come with Limited Slip or is this an option? Reason I ask is that the right rear tire seems to have a bit more wear than the one on the left.

For uneven tire wear I would check alignment, particularly the toe setting.
