Replacement calipers for 997.1 C2?
Replacement calipers for 997.1 C2?
This question is for a 2005 base Carrera. The car sees more track time every year, 9 events so far for 2011. Now is the time for new rotors pads etc all around.
Performance of stock brakes with track pads are still ok vs driver capability etc, but switching pads for track events without having to remove the calipers twice/event would be a nice improvement. So the question is if there are any aftermarket calipers avaliable for a stock, base Carrera brake setup?
Thanks.

If you upgrade to 997S or 997 Turbos:
You will need 997S hubs for the front and can keep your rear hubs stock. The front and rear 997 GT3 calipers are compatible with the front 997S hub and the rear 997 base hub. You will need either the 997S or Turbo rotors.
996 Turbo brakes are the same used on the 997S.

i have 997.1 C2 car, you do not have to remove calipers to swap pads. or do you have 997.2 car?
stock calipers are fine. if you want better brakes - you will need to replace hubs/uprights and for better results you will want 6 piston calipers and bigger master cylinder, it is plenty of work. car will not brake faster in the result of all that as stock brakes more than capable to lock rotors under load.
all you need for stock brakes are front gt2 air ducts for cooling, proper gt3 rs or turbo rear air ducts and pfc01 or pagid yellow rs29 pads. that`s all.
issue most people dislike is a 'mushy' feel of a pedal under hard braking, but it is difficult to fix as usually it is ABS related.
