Nav System Malfunction

All of a sudden the Nav system in my 2010 C4S Cab stopped working. It gives wrong directions....has incorrect streets on the Map and tells me to take left hand turns on some mythical street on the highway.

I'm bringing it in Wednesday but I thought someone here might have some experience with this and there might be a quick fix....some kind of a reset? I read the manual but didn't see anything so I thought I'd ask for help from the experts.

Thanks in advance.

Tom

well i'm glad you're not following gps to the tee. In Cambridge, MA, i was pulling onto Memorial Dr (one way) going East and i noticed someone turning in going West Bound about to come at me. i high beamed and honked, put my hazards and stopped in front of her, asked her what the hell she's doing. she told me her Prius' GPS said to turn here... ugh...

It happen once for me. I'd re/re the navi fuse in the fuse panel to reset it. I dont remember which one but look it up in the book. GL

Had the same thing happening to me the gps was going crazy plus radio freezing. My car was an 07. After trying 2 resets and re-uploading software they replaced the PCM under warranty..

Try killing the power by removing the fuse or disconnecting the battery. Worked for my Mercedes.

Had it happen to me once. It said to turn left and that would have put me in the river.

happened to me once. Don't worry - set the gps to where you are going it will self fix in 1/2 hour. Mine got fixed while I was going to the dealer to get it looked at.

Same thing here. In the menu, I selected reset nav to factory and the issue was resolved. Good luck. I have an 05 C2S.

I am sure there is a disclaimer in the instruction manual. Wrong GPS directions get us in trouble when we depend too much on it. Like a closed off ramp.

Well there is that rather annoying disclaimer right on the PCM that you have to acknowledge every time you use the map system.. so either you don't have a nav system or that full-screen disclaimer isn't 'big enough'

Or are you talking about the Prius driver.

Honestly, I don't remember what the disclaimer even says, and if I could, I would disable the disclaimer. I'm smart enough to know the nav is just like a backseat passenger.. they can give advice, but I'm not going to blindly follow it.
