Drive an expensive car?

I saw this quote and pix on line...

Never confuse the ability to pay for an expensive car with the ability to be able to drive an expensive car.

looking at the trees and grass

looks like one of florida's finest drivers. I think the carrera gt's are becoming so valuable because guys keep wrecking them. this one is probably back on the mrkt to be sold as a perfect car.

I agree with the saying but at the sametime

It can happen to the best of us, if you push it your bound to fall.

Maybe you do well for 100 turns but there will be that one that gets away from you. It's called being human, Nobody's perfect ~ Pro race drivers crash once in a while. That's when you know your pushing limits. But as far as driving on the street goes that kinda thing should'nt happen. So I think your(or whoever wrote that) is right!

being able to buy a car doesnt mean you know how to drive it. Just because someone gets a licence to drive in a honda civic an later buys a CGT doesnt make him able to drive it. I know what you mean

Too bad about the car, Looks like he crashed in heven. Palm trees and green grass looks so nice. Maybe he swerved to miss a bird? meh

I can picture the driver saying to the cop~ I swear officer there was this squril doing backflips stright accross the hiway an so i swurved to miss him an well thats when the ditch jumped out an grapped onto my car ~ Pulled me right in, you should have saw it!"

Well, if it is, the person who created it is a serious artist with Photoshop. One of the hardest mat jobs is stranded items like hair and grass, but that area around the grass shows no sign of matting even when examined strand for strand. Of course, some serious Photoshop artists are out there and some are willing to waste their time on such things, so it's possible.

On the other hand, having seen my share of crashes the end result isn't all that unlikely. Might even be more likely than a real Pshop artiste bothering with an image that won't be all that dramatic for non-Porsche people. Notice the disturbed earth behind the direction of travel. I've watched cars hit an obstruction going off track and go essentially vertical while continuing forward at a slower speed. A big chunk of the kinetic energy goes into vertical motion. About half a century ago, I was a gymnast and we use the reverse energy exchange. You hit the ground traveling vertically and turn most of the energy into rotation and forward motion. I saw one car lose all forward motion. It just went vertical. Turned a full ninety degrees and then did a tail slide back into the ground.

If this car hit the curb at a moderate speed like 75 or 80, it could have done that. So it's straight up and down, maybe even a little over the top with the tail leading, inverted or on the way there. Then the tail end makes contact with the near side of that ditch about ten feet behind where it came to rest. The impact both slows the forward travel further and starts rotation of the nose back toward the ground, ending up in that bridge position.

Mind you, I don't say it happened that way. Could indeed be a Photoshop creation, but it isn't an implausible result of going off the road at some moderate speed.

Of course, in lieu of analyzing pixels, the simple way to answer this is Googling newspaper reports in Florida.

Call is a testament to CF that the car isn't somewhat 'warped' in the middle. Looks as solid as can be...from a distance. For all we know, it might just require some replacement front/rear panels (Six-Figure Repair...).

I'm not going to bag on the driver...don't need Karma following my a$$ around...

who knows... i just thought right away - car is way too clean for such incident, plus, it was a video some time ago of how GT was dropped from trying to get on a ramp - it fell there hardly 2ft or so from ramps and damage was extensive. here is was obviously hit way way harder and its frame is perfectly straight and clean with all bumpers/undercarriege/wheels intact? imho, BS.
or owner got incredibly lucky.
