Actually the C4 is supposed to do 0-60 in 5.1 and the C4S in 4.8

My question is why would someone buy the C4/C4S when the performance is lower than the C2/C2S...

Maybe if you want the wider look, or AWD???

AWD means you can take it out in the snow, ice and rain - which we get quite a bit of in the northeast. With snow tires, I've heard the C4s handles quite well in the snow. Also would imagine that in wet, rainy conditions the handling is more stable.

Not to mention you can go faster on the track with AWD with less driver skill. To drive a rear wheel/rear engine car fast you have to know what your doing.... I love rear wheel drive, but the wide rear of the C4S is very exotic looking.

BTW: This is the same argument people have with the 996 C2 vs C4S. I more skilled driver is faster around the track in a C2 than a C4S, but the average driver is faster in the C4S.

"Powered by the proven 3.6-liter six-cylinder engine, which has an output of 325 hp (SAE), the Carrera 4 accelerates from 0 to 60 mph (0-96 km/h)in 4.6 seconds and has a top track speed of 174 mph (280 km/h). The Carrera 4S is equipped with a larger 3.8-liter engine that develops 355 hp (SAE) and accelerates the car from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.6 seconds and to a top track speed of 179 mph (288 km/h)."

I know they are probably fibbing a bit, but this is what the Porsche website says.

Here is the question that I really want to know, when can I put a deposit down on the C4S cab (assuming there will be one) and how much will it be?

Ryan, let me know if and when you're ready to get a new Porsche.
