When I replace my tires...which set?

I drove in windy , rainy conditions in Seattle pacific raceways during a lapping event sept 26. Because of standing water in the kink in the straightaway we were told to keep speeds under 100. Mich PSS tires did great with 3 hrs of those conditions. Temp was in the 50's then and felt the ABS active upon entering 3A (double hairpins). Now I have Pirelli 240 sottozero on for winter(temp below 40's). Was out of town for our recent snowmageddon.

Another element to consider: the Pilot Super Sports have a 15,000 mile treadwear warranty (it's actually a 30,000 mile warranty but reduced 50% because the tires can't be rotated front to back). Very few other tires in these sizes have a treadwear warranty.

I do know I jumped for the road hazard coverage because it will replace the other tire on the same axle if one of them is damaged.

That's a plus that I wasn't aware of... What tire would give me the best overall mileage... I don't plan on taking it to the track... I try not to drive in the rain or snow.... Actually, it's just a DD. Would rather have a tire strictly for the mileage.
What would you suggest...

I replaced my ps2s with super sports. Very happy. Although when I take a corner at speed and come out with wot, I feel the back end 'wiggle' more. To me the super sports feel like they have reduced tire wall stifness. This feeling only happens when I really push it(with Psm on.) I have a c4 w/ 19" and pasm. The super sports are great in the rain.

I have Hankook v12s. Quieter than the Contis and they seam to have better grip. You need to run them at the higher pressure (44R/36F for my car-08C2S). The car feels a little loose when pressure is set at 40R/32F.

I'm running them right now as well. Do a search here for more chatter about them. I've have mine for about 6 months and probably 7k miles, including two days at a DE at Road Atlanta. They've performed quite well, but I'm not too picky. I'm more happy with the savings. I'll go with another cheap set when I replace these, and I'll look at the MPSSs at that time.

agree! I have the michelin pilot super sports and i am here to tell you they are better and cheaper than the regular ps2's.
I think that michelin was tired of everybody bolting to hankook and came up with an alternative that is about $400 cheaper than the ps2's and only about $350 more than the hankook's.
I paid about $1375 for my set of 19's and i will never switch again. They are the perfect tire for this car.
Not sure why anyone would by the ps2 over the super sport either...
My two cents-

I bought my car in May 2010 and bought the V12s in Aug 2011. I'm out of town right now, and I probably need to check on how they're doing, tread-wise. I'm hoping to get 12-15k miles out of them or more, based on research here and elsewhere. When you ask about 'mileage', are you talking tread life of MPGs? I get about the same MPGs as I did with the OEM PS2s that were on the car when I bought it.

Guys, who do you have actually put ON your tires? If you buy them from Tirerack they just ship them to you right? I can't see the $8hr kid at Discount Tire jacking with my car.
