SUNCOAST Battery/Starter Updated Harness (for 2006 and 2005 owners)

Folks,

I noticed that Suncoast proposes for $99 an updated Wiring harness in an attempt to solve (I suppose...) the infamous hot engine crank up issue, seen on 2005 and 2006 models.

I know my car has it (2006 C4S) as restarting the engine after stopping it is a chore and pathetic. You really have to wait a few minutes, to not look like a plain idiot and thus stalling is not recommended in the traffic.

I was wondering if this update really fix the issue and how difficult it is to replace it on the car.

Thanks for your inputs.

Yves

Saw that myself and then read the thread on this forum regarding the DYI for replacing it. Can not confirm whether it works or not but it does address the presumed causes of the issue you described and as confirmed by the Porsche tech bulletin on the problem. However, after reviewing the DYI, I decided it best to hope this never needs replacing on my '07 as it appears to be a royal PITA to replace. The DYI confirms it can be done and provides a thorough documentation on the proceedure with pics.

Dadio

Would you be so kind to post the link to the DIY? My searches led me to a discussion about the cable, but no instructions on how to change it.

I thank you.
