1400 miles and questions

Just put 1400 (mostly highway miles) miles on the car I got this week. Got 25.5 MPG on the last 600 mile run. Lots of weight in the car and speed was 70-75 Average.

Car had no issues other than that coolant loss I had no idea where it went. Had new cap installed. The car gets tons of looks on the highway.

Is there a way to shut the radio so it doesn t come on everytime I start the car?

I have a 6 speed and it has some anti roll back funtion when on a hill and starting off. Can that be shut? It is harder than doing it the old school way of good footwork. It holds the car from rolling but also seemed to hold the car back from going forward too. Used a little too much clutch material on one of those starts.

Another short 200 miles this week and I ll be home I can clean it all up. Front wheels are black from dust.

Push down the volume button for a few seconds (>2 sec) and it will turn off (see button labeled A on pic below). A short/quick push just mutes it and yes, it will wake up after another entry cycle. To turn it on you have to push down again.

I don't believe you can turn off the hill assist, anti rollback. I didn't like it on my 6 speed either. If I tried to release the clutch early it would hold the car back. I had to wait for the hill assist to release first.

Agree with the OP on the hill assist. My 2010 997 has it too... Bmw and minis have a much better tuned version of it allowing for softer launches. This one indeed holds the car back. It almost makes you do harder launches than you otherwise would.
