Upgrading radar detector to Passport 9500ci?

Agreed...arrows are nice, but false alarms are a pain to deal with...I'm slowing down either way, arrows or not.


General feeling seems to be the 9500ci for the jamming end of things, I personally don't find the cost benefit in spending $2k for a setup like that, jersey has only so much open road to speed and jammer or not you'll still get pulled over by a trooper on turnpike if he just sees that you're flying along lol aka why I just want to know there's a trooper around

Sounds like the 8500ci Plus is essentially the 9500ix without the autolearn; I'm fine with manually locking out signals as long as they can be locked out somehow.

After having your 8500ci Plus for a little while, have you noticed any different in performance/other features vs the 9500ix? Also, any pics of the install in your 335?

I have my V1 shut off to X band so most false alarms don't sound, now Infinity has laser cruse control and lane departure warnings. The laser alarm is going off all the time on my V1, I am almost to the point of shutting that off too. Anyone have any suggestions?

My V1 isn't picking up CHP's when they aim directly at me. This happened two times.

Anyone know why? I disabled X band but not Laser.

I have a new Tesla Model S, which has serious need of protection. This forum seems to have the richest discussion of the options I'm considering. My need is similar to TPHSS's, with the 8500ci Plus. The high end solution would be 9500ci + Blinder HP 905, which would double the cost (close to $3K installed). A few questions:

- on the 8500ci, is manual learn possible and does it work ok?
- why woudn't you add the escort shifters to the 8500ci?
- does anyone have experience with Blinders, which most of the other forums recommend?
