New 2010 997 C4S Cab

Very excited, new to the forum, new to the p car club - after a very long and detailed search, I just purchased a 2010 997 C4S cabriolet.

5,550 miles
6 Speed
Black
Black top
Tan interior
Bose
Sport Chrono Plus
Dynamic cornering lights
PCM Navigation
Heated front seats
Universal Audio Interface
Bluetooth

I have a couple of questions:

1. I attempted to setup the daytime running lights so they would be on 100% of the time - no luck, didn't see the option was even available in the menu under "lights". Is there a firm wear update that might enable this?

2. Anyone have any experience with adding the (manual transmission) multi-function option to the steering wheel?

3. Need to install a built in radar/laser detector - I see that most like the Bel, K40 or the Escort, it appears that it is hard to wrong with any of the above, thoughts?

4. Any recommended enhancements?

5. Winter rims and tires? I will be adding a set for next year, any thoughts or recommendations on vendors?

I have had a chance over the past year (plus) to browse 6speed and have learned a great deal - thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Any advice / comments would be welcome!

Thanks in advance for your thoughts,

RC

hearty congratulations!!!!! You'll love your Porsche. Doesn't that sound great? Your Porsche. Rolls off the tongue nicely.

I think the dashboard information display (operated by the short stalk at 7 o'clock on the steering column) has the lighting controls. If that was what you were already referring to, my apologies and am sure you'll find them soon.

for a built in radar/laser detection, the escort 9500ci is your best bet.

I've had both the 9500ci and now the K40 360. I'm sure you can't go wrong with either but I had 3-4 cars with ValentineOne's before investing in built-in radars. The V1 has the directional arrows (radar coming from front, rear or sides) and once you have that, it's really hard to go back to a system without the directional indicators.

When I had the 9500ci installed I lost that and it was a deal breaker for me.

In my next 2 cars after the 9500ci I had the K40 360 put in which has the front and rear directional indicators. It also has a wireless remote vs. the 9500ci hard wired.

It's been about 2 years since I had the 9500ci so some things may have changed. Does the 9500ci now have directional indicators? If not, that would be a showstopper for me.

Like the OP said, probably can't go wrong with either. Don't know anything about the Bell.
