Gundo hack on a 997.2 question
Gundo hack on a 997.2 question
I'm getting ready to do the hack. Plenty of pics of 997.1 mufflers on the web. Anyone have pics of a 997.2 can? I need to source the SS pipe and not sure if it is the same distance and straight or curved for the .2 can.
TIA

Plenty of posts on this popular mod here. I would recommend going to a quality custom exhaust shop to get their advice on materials, etc, unless you happen to have that background. I recommend going with a 2" connector (I did; love it!). The pieces used for mine was only about 3-4 inches long and straight. The shop ground the ends of the connector pipe to match the contour of the muffler inlet and outlet pipes and then welded them in where they had cut the holes (again, 2"). Don't worry too much about the differences in the various model year mufflers; the principal is still the same. Take a representative photo with you when you discuss the job with the shop.
Or....are you planning to do this mod yourself??

Thanks PT. Basically doing it myself with help from a shop owner/friend. Have done it before on my 993. Going 2". I was just trying to determine if the SS pipe I need to order is straight or with a bend without having to crawl under the car or drop a can first.
I have numerous links and pics to 997.1 but I am being told that 997.2 cans are slightly different.

LOL..yep. Ran out of crayons this week drawing out the PSS9's he's trying to put on my 993.
Mark.
Done yet? Mines a 2009 992.2 C4S and I wasn't able to find anything on Gundo for 997.2 so am really looking forward to how yours went. Can you post pictures and maybe pre-post videos for sound.
Thanks JW

Cut here, weld there, etc. Piece of cake - it'll be great.
