Yea I've read the fine print and the terms do seem reasonable, just question of needing it at the price paid...still could go either way on this, any more input is appreciated

I purchased the Tire/Wheel Insurance with my new 09 997.2S. A few months ago I hit a large piece of metal on the freeway and dented the inside lip of the front left tire however the tire itself was unharmed. Tire/Wheel Insurance denied my claim because the ****Fine Print*** indicates that the wheel must be damaged in a way that the tire doesn't hold air.. What BS.... $1200 for a new front wheel and now come to find out my left rear wheel might be damaged as well. I hoping the steel belts on the tire were only damaged and not the wheel.

Oh well, lesson learned......

This mirrors an experience I observed while getting some work done on my car at a local porsche/german car wheel specialist. There was someone in there with a 7 series who had a badly bent wheel. They had wheel insurance. The adjuster came out, looked at the wheel, denied the claim because he said he put soapy water on it and didn't see it leaking air. The wheel did have a very slow leak due to the dent.

The person was left with two options: repair or replace the wheel at their own cost.

The staff at the wheel shop was floored.

The customer not happy.

I was not happy as well. I spent over an hour on the phone with the company talking to various managers. I told them that dispite the fine print, it's very misleading to the customer.

Gonna agree with everybody here and state that I would skip the tire/wheel warranty. Not only do you have the "fine print", but I'll put money that they will pro-rate your tires, so they won't even cover the full cost for replacement... Better off taking that money, and buying a couple shares of Apple Stock....
