i would never let chain tire stores touch my car even if i had to tow it to the next town. it's not worth the worries and risk.

i know of a small tire shop that i trust. installation is about 2-3x more but i'd not trust anyone putting on tires for $17. they will rip you off by upselling. how else do they make a living? all that free balance, rotation means another shot at your wallet when they got your car as a hostage

find a reputable tire shop ahead of time. if you ever need it, you'll know where to go

After reading the Tire Rack reviews, as well as other members' experiences with the Hankook V12s, I went with them in 235/25/20 front and 305/25/20 in the rear. I find their performance in the rain excellent, and I don't track the car (at least I won't consider it with these 20s!), and I find them to suit my needs (with occasional spirited drives) just fine. And the road noise is less than the Bridgestones that came stock with the car...!

I bought a set of Pilot Sports from Tire Rack and had them shipped directly to the the shop I normally use, At Speed Motorsports. They did a nice job and not a scratch on my wheels.

Tirerack has a set of rears on sale for 440, which a local distributor (Discount Tire) matched. However, I've seen these guys work before, busting things up is a daily occurrence.

So I'm curious where you guys go?
I would go to the guy who doesn't make busting up things a daily occurrence and doesn't wear clown clothes. I guess it would be someone who is appealing.

I use the dealer. His price ends up being close to the price of the tire specialist. Also I want the dealer to do the alignment and to check the toe in at the same time

Any thoughts on the most quiet tire. Not looking for performance right now.

Also comes with a pro-rated warranty, which the others don't. DWS is the way to go if you want all around, plus it's quite.

Install Tires

I live in Montreal where we dont have chain stores, only Goodyear. Gordons Goodyear are great. European AutoWorks has great machines and installers too.
The best guy is at Avos place w great machines and a scrupulos installer.
They are all good, why bother with dealers who are more expensive and not specialists?

road noise

Thanks. Currently running michelin 235-35-19 on front and 305-30-19 rears. Not a DD but when we go for longer drives, less noise would be nice.
