The AWE Tuning S-FLO Filter, coming soon to a 997.2 airbox near you.
Another question please - traditionally, with similar filters such as K&N, in addition to increases in power, there is also a bump up, albeit small, in miles per gallon. Have you seen any similar results in your testing? I know we are talking performance cars, but I have always invested in these filters because they are the best of both worlds - power and efficiency.

In theory, due to added efficiency it should improve fuel mileage, but we have not done any controlled testing.
These filters look quite similar with the red BMC units, which up until now it was he only good choice for our 997.2s.
I have the BMC units currently but I cannot say that they felt like 10-14 hp in gains... Along with my AWE secondary muffler delete they might worth 10-15 both together. That's my feeling however...
AWE makes awesome products so I am sure that these filters will be a success especially if they are priced more competitevely than the BMC units!

When I first got my '7S.2 (almost 2 years ago now) I posted a question on here about whether the BMCs were worth buying and got a reply from Alex at Sharkwerks saying they got no meaningful gains on their dyno with the BMCs.
So my question to Will (and Todd) at AWE is "what is different about your filters, when compared to the BMC, that allows them to give such a substantial gain?"
As a big fan/advocate of AWE and their products (I had a full AWE exhaust on my old '7S.1) I'm looking forward to their reply (and to discovering just what they've found/done to get the gains).
Soon as I know how, I'm buying...
Edit: Just an aside: I removed the AWE exhaust I had on my old car when I sold it (so I could trade-in the car at the local Porsche dealer). I then sold-on the AWE and it's still being thoroughtly enjoyed by its new owner. Great piece of kit.

I'm also curious since the testing was done on a GTS and not a normal Carrera or CS, if that impacts the hp/tq gains on the different models. I'm also curious what you say your hp/tq test-to-test variation is...if 14 hp and 13 ft-lb on a C2S, I'd be buying that in a heartbeat.
btw AWE crossover pipes get installed tomorrow on my C2S.

Pretty sure its not just the air filter causing the gain. Its like saying that removing the air filter all together will produce at least that amount of power gain or better on a totally stock car. We all know that is leaning towards not possible. Porsche as i quote someone else will not leave extra hp lying around for free. But still anxiously waiting for this progress.

All great questions-
AWE Tuning S-FLO Filters use a tightly woven cotton fabric that has been shown to flow better than the gauze materials used by some other manufacturers, while having the same or better filtering ability.
Also, AWE Tuning S-FLO Filters are assembled using a low pressure molding process. Some filters currently on the market us a lower cost, high-pressure molding process that leads to rubber seeping into the filter surface. This spill over can obstruct airflow up to 25%. Low pressure molding ensures that this will not occur.
Since all 997.2 NA models use the same OE filter, performance on other 997.2 engines should be comparable, relative to the factory power rating. The 27% airflow increase is independent of the engine.
