After much back and forth I recently purchased my 997.1 C2S, after making a full project list I almost moved up to turbo, but that will likely wait until next season, so here we go!

Base car '06 C2S, CPO

Already ordered;
-Alpine 7" touchscreen w, iPod, Back-up Camera w/ sensors, Sat radio, Navi, Music video/DVD capable
-ROTtec DRL's, LED rear tails, softwhite matching HID's, rear plate LED's
-Custom installed Passport 9500 w/ 3 laser jammers for front
-Red LED foot-well lights (not crazy, just a touch since I have red calipers & ROTtec red/clear on order)
-Full GT3 Aerokit (fixed wing, rear bumper, front bumper w/ lip)

Next on list:
Millworks or other tow hook front plate mount
Gundo hack & Fabspeed or AWE tips, or go for mufflers & tips
Smile grill for Aero kit front bumper

 

Anyone know where I could possibly have a new "Carrera S" emblem made/ordered? I would even consider a custom one, since I have Veteran tags I was thinking "Remember 911" may be fitting, too much?

I d try e bay or the dealer(if money is no object) for the emblems.

 

You can get a new badge from suncoast or bumperplugs.... I think darker script would look good on an white car, maybe with a red S.

Thanks! I have some emails out to them, it's funny how these little details can be hard to decide on! It looks like it may not be worth the extra $ for the whole statement, most likely doing 911S, matte black or oem brushed silver, maybe with red S

or I could paint lobster claws and barrels black and have thin white or red lip trim, any thoughts? I have seen these with other colors, such as yellow on a 997 w/ PCCB, my calipers are red and I was thinking red or white outer ring?

 

Setback, I have a 6 day east coast rally starting June 5th, shop was supposed to ship my GT3 kit wed, just got email asking to verify address before shipping, wouldn't go out till tomorrow, thus not possible to get in time for body shop.....order cancelled....and I was just gonna order rims & mufflers/tips today too....arrghhhh

 

Project 997 update;
Custom Passport radar & 3 laser jammers, Alpine touchscreen, Nav, Back-up Camera, iPod, Sat Radio, DVD & music video installed with custom foot-well lighting installed by Luxury Details in Framingham MA.

Today Speed Tech in NH is starting the build of my full exhuast system, 200 Cell Hi-Flow Cats, X-Pipe, Mufflers, and mirror finish quad tips, should be built by Friday =)

 

Nice addition! How much did the interior work set you back?

 

If you need wheels, let me know! We are just wrapping up a few CV3 setups, this can be done in the paint scheme you want, in monoblock form, with the spokes going all the way to the wheel ends. Plus these are really light too!

Hi, your mods are looking great. I love the Passport custom install.

Can I ask what GT3 kit you're going with? Is it OEM? If so, how are you planning to handle the rear wing/airbox alignment issues?

I looked at so many places, Suncoast, nrauto, getty design, Misha, Carid, etc and I originally ordered the full kit from Carid, taking a chance since there isn't much of anything on here about them and I know my body shop can work wonders so I wasn't too concerned, and I would make a big deal if there were serious quality or fitment issues. I also don't want a full fiberglass kit since I drive it a good amount and live in New England.

Long story short I am back to the drawing board and even contemplating just an FVD lip & smile grill on my OEM front, and maybe or maybe not a wing....if I go the full kit route I can't justify spending huge $ on a 997.1, at some point the project is outweighed by just buying another car

Since I have a track record of changing cars a lot (30 in 12 years) I can't see going that far when I know it's only a matter of time before I move on to the next toy! There are also some good threads on dealing with airbox and wing error lights, again another layer of "stuff" to do if I get a full kit & wing...
