Installed clear side marker and found a rubber water insulation piece missing/or not?
hi folks,
I had installed the clear side markers this afternoon. It was quite easy and I believe anyone can do it in probably less than 10 mins. However, after I removed the passenger side piece, I found a rubber piece attached to the wiring. I didn't see one like this on the driver side piece
or I could simply pulled too hard and dropped it into the bumper. I figure this should be used to insulate water and I am a bit worried would that be a critical issue as my driver side is missing that piece. Anybody had similar experience?

Check out the parts schematic for the car and look at the side marker light and see if you see that part. It might have just been from something else during assembly or you might need it to keep the light water-tight.
I had one of those on both sides covering the base of the connector, so yes you are missing one. Don't know how necessary the are but may be worthwhile ordering a new one from your parts dept. as they can't be pricey.
