Which Car to get for a new DD??
2/3 of your question (the M3 vs. 997 part) gets asked and answered all the time on this and other boards. You're going to get a bunch of different answers based on what people actually have.
I own an E92 M3 and a 997 C2S and use the M3 as the daily driver. It is more comfortable and practical for commuting yet is still a lot of fun to drive. But if I could only have one car, I'd probably keep the 997 and press it into DD duty. The 911s are a bit more special IMO.
I've driven the AM V8V but never owned one so can't really comment. But they sure are sexy.

I'm sure many of us here and reading this post have considered at least 2 of the 3 cars on your list. The AM is kind of out of place, but I suspect there's a lot of cross-shopping between the M3 and the 911. I used to have a tuned 335i that was pretty quick (12.8 quartermile), but got rid of it and went back to an S2K because I missed that true sports car, tossable, nimble feel. Of course I got another car to daily drive too. The point is, although fast and capable, the BMW never felt like a sports car.
Granted, the M3 is a different beast than the 335i. From everyone I've talked to and everything I've read, it definitely feels more like a sports car. But if you're looking for the purest and truest sports car off of your list, it is the 911 no question. Now as for S vs. non-S, or .1 vs. .2, obviously the 997.2 S is the best inside and out. It's also damned expensive, so it depends of how much you're looking to spend.
