Has anybody removed their A/C vents and replaced them with carbon fiber vents? I'm trying to remove the center one, & having difficulties. Side 2 vents removed already. Help! ;o)

 

Yes, I did. It was tough to pull out. I assume that you've released the little clips, just like on the side vents?
Once those were disengaged I used plastic pry tools to slide it out. Like I said, it was hard to pull out, but it came out once enough force was applied. You should probably protect the dash with some painters tape.

Do you have the instructions for removal that shows the clips? I found them somewhere on this site.

Got it. Not exactly easy. Once I found out about the tabs up inside the vent area, that did the trick. Without knowing that, I'd be impossible to remove.

 

I need to do this to the center console vents as well to fix a broken vent slider. Is it just two tabs - one on the left, one on the right? I see two 'U' shaped wire tabs on the inside top of the vent assembly - is that them? Do you just push them up to release? I'm afraid I'm going to break something, so any tips are greatly appreciated!
