2005 997 911 Carrera Blower motor noisy

My blower motor is noisy when I turn it up past the half way point. It is making a noise that sounds like someone is holding a piece of paper up against the fan blades. Has anyone out there heard of these motors going bad or could it be that something is stuck there in the squirrel cage ?

why not to take it apart and inspect? it is quite an easy thing to do.

I've had mine go bad before... the symptoms were very similar. In my case, the fan blades started hitting the cage and causing a rattling noise that became worse and worse over time.

Is it easy to drop it from the passenger side or is it major surgery?
The dealer said it would be an hour and a half labor to inspect and 550 bucks on top of that to repair , thanks for taking the time to reply. I really appreciate it.

I had mine fixed under warranty, but from what I recall, it only took about 1.5-2 hours for the whole job. If your car is out of warranty I'd probably recommend taking it to an indy.

I've been out of warranty for a year. I wanted to check with you forum members to see whether this was a common issue and what the fixes were . I am hoping something is just stuck in there that I can remove easily. If not I saw some replacements on eBay for about 250 USD which is half of what the dealer wants.
