Different intake manifold, but I think the plenum is still the same.

I had the IPD plenum on my 997.2 before putting in the x51 powerkit. The intake plenum from the x51 is TOTALLY DIFFERENT and thus you cannot reuse the IPD plenum. The plenum that comes with the x51 kit is identical to the GTS - very pretty, very aluminum - see the pics from my detailed install. The first pic shows the NEW X51 plenum and intakes installed while the second pic is of the OLD IPD plenum and stock intake on the work bench. The parts are not interchangeable so if you have a GTS there is NO NEED for an IPD plenum.

OTOH I have the IPD plenum for sale if someone wants it

PTParks, many thanks for the explanation. Now I understand the difference. Very helpful.

Three different parts, but all part of the complete intake system.

OMG $12k for an intake?! But then again, it does look like Picasso of some sort.

Well, it was about 10K out the door and its not just the beautiful carbon fiber airbox and the awesome aggressive intake, its also the exhaust manifold and new cylinder heads. It sounds great, makes noticeably more power, and makes my car even more special to me. And thats what counts YMMV !

And when I get the new 2014 991 Turbo, my car will find a new home with someone who will love her as much I do

I will take the plenum if it's still available. I'm ready to PayPal, thanks.
