Any owners with pics of the install would be great - I wouldn't want to ruin the lines of the design.

I've been considering this as well but believe that a very watchful eye is pretty much as good.

Also any info on Ontario installers?

K40 and Escort got OWNED EVERY time. Even aiming the guns where the head(s) were place got punch through. Nice thing about LI is that you can update the software. So, as new guns come out the can be program to jam those. IIRC Blinder just came out with a new set up that has been testing pretty good. I don't have any first hand knowledge of that set up yet.
Just do you home work. The reason K40 and the Escort systems are installed by the audio shops and dealer is MARKUP. They are making close to 50% on the unit and then what ever they charge for the install.
Complete BS! Only reliable testing are cosumer results in the REAL world. Driving back and forth to work, vacations etc. All other controlled testing is a waste of time. I'd like to hear from others with the new K40/ with laser and hear how many tickets they have received ?

Laser Interceptor + Valentine 1 Install Pics

I have the Valentine 1 hardwired and Laser Interceptor installed on my 997. And the same set up but with a 9500ix in my Cayenne. The GPS lockout feature in that detector is much better suited for a daily driver. Here are pics of the 997. I have 3 LI jammers upfront with the power switch mounted under the steering column. I also have an external speaker set up as I found the audible alert not loud enough when the top is down, radio on & driving 70+ mph. Speaker is mounted out of sight behind the dash.

Look here. All I am saying is don't just listen to your installer/sales person. They are there to SELL you something. There are some great forums and videos out there. Do your homework. I have nothing to gain or lose by saying one product is good or bad. All I am doing is giving my first hand knowledge. The testing is VERY valuable. If your heads are off just a few degrees or countersunk too much you will get owned. Better to find this out during testing. My car was good down to ~250 ft after that I might get nailed depending on the gun. To me that is good information to know.
With your lodgic no ticket in X years means nothing. Many people don't even have radar detectors and they haven't gotten a ticket EVER??

x2 on K40 being absolute crap......I can say this through testing and real world results. Laser Interceptor is the absolute best on the market.
I had a K40 RL360 system on my S4 which I replaced with a Laser Interceptor Quad. Never going back to K40...

My K40 jammer is dated, so I need to upgrade. I'm debating between the LI & Newer K40 setup, but LI seems logical, consider everything on this forum and the other detector forum.

Anyone have any thoughts on running LI with my K40 detector, the radar detector works fine. It's just the Jammer's I'd be replacing.

You should not have a problem doing that. You just do NOT want to run two LIDAR jammers together. So, as long as you remove the K40 "jammer" head(s) then you should be fine.
I would see if you can borrow a V1 or Escort Redline detector for a day from a friend. I think you will be surprized how much further away those will pick up the threats.

Very nice. Did you install the LI system by yourself or have someone do it?

I had it professionally done having the bumper removed and it being done right. I would have made a mess doing it myself.

Any install threads?? I will have to borrow a V1, but I hate the idea of mounting anything on or around my dash, which is why I love the K40 setup that is built into my dash.

Not sure I'd install it in Canada, I was given major **** last time I was in Toronto.

I had it done at AVI Boston. They are a great installer. PM me and I'll send you the owner's contact info. I'm having a motorized, retractable front license plate installed next.

Escort 9500ci

I installed the Escort 9500ci which has front and rear laser shifters and a dual horn Radar receiver up front. It has GPS to alert speed traps and red light cameras and stores stationary radar like door openers, alarms etc. It has a visual indicator as well as a powered speaker for alerts and voice prompts. The system has saved me much more than it cost to buy. I purchased the system from Park Place Porsche at a discount. Here is a link to a fantastic installation and write up on the 9500. I believe it is money well spent and the first mod to do.

I know a lot of people really like that set up. For me it was hard to justify trashing 3 V-1's and a 9500ix and then spend $3K for the hardware and the install for the 9500ci. Also the shifter pack doesn't perform as well as the LI. I do love the Escort's GPS lockout feature, but hate that I have no idea which direction the signal is coming from. I debated getting the 8500ci with the LI, but decided to keep my window mounted detectors.
