It is not a ricer sound at all, I hate those cannons they put on the back of STI's & such. This is a much more deeper growl & only happens when hitting the 3k rpm mark.
I don't find it sounding like that at all. To me it sounds more in the Ferrari type sound. Where in Cali are you? Happy to have you come hear mine if you want. Is yours a 997.2?
Chris was recommended to me by another 6speed member. His place is in Irvine, Ca. I took my 997.2 C2S in yesterday and he did a fantastic job and his price was very reasonable. Aside from doing a great job Chris is just a great guy. I know that this job was super simple for him as he does a lot of other high end tuning stuff.
I highly highly recommend Chris. Chris is also a 6speed member "Sterlingc1975"
The Gundo sounds amazing. Could not be happier. I will 100% be going back to Chris for more upgrades in the future.
Question- when you guys are talking about 2" or 1.5" bypass, is this from using (altering) all stock parts OR is this an additional part that you are adding to the Gundo? What's the sound difference btw a 2" - 1.5" bypass difference in your opinions?
..I'm just learning about this and trying to get a better idea on which route to go. -Deciding if I should go with Fabspeed Bypass or FVD Bypass (or whether neither is needed for this Gundo hack at all)??
I checked Chris's Irvine shop but he is no longer work there.
Does anybody recommend some shop in Orange County? Around Anaheim?
It is hard to find someone already done and good job.
Thanks
no effect on emmissions testing at all as it's all post catalytic converter
2" seems to yield a deeper, throatier sound
I much prefer the hack to anything else.
Had my car inspected here in the state of VT for a registration, and the mechanic had to drive it for a safety check. I forgot just how awesome it sounds on the drive-away. When standing on the curb and listening to your car pull away, I can guarantee you will be BLOWN away.
Just had to post my fav pic from Bristol Motor Speedway - believe I was running a factory PSE at the time, as evidenced by the tips. Took it off, sold if for a couple grand and went back to the Hack. Once you hack, you never go back.
I am on the fence about this. I hear so much about this Hack and after speaking with Chris and getting a bit more information I do not know what to do. I am perfectly happy with my P-car and never really though of changing anything on it. However the idea of it just sounding more aggressive appeals to me. The price is right the idea sounds great. I just don't want my Porsche to sound like some of these teenage bozos I hear speed by me always trying to race me.
You should do it, the price is right and it sounds great only when you get on it, when you drive like a grandma, it sounds like stock! KH
