Front lip change on GTS

I tried doing a search but couldn't find anything specific enough to help me out so here goes:

I went ahead and ordered the sport classic/speedster front lip for my GTS. Its currently being painted and should be done Saturday morning at the latest. My question for you guys is about the install. Personally, I rather put it on myself so I want to know if this can be done in my garage. Can anyone help me out with some instructions on this or tell me if I need to have the car up on a lift. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Barrett

It's easy I put the Speedster lip on my car, took me 15 minutes to do. No need for a lift. There are 2 plastic locking plugs on each end that need to be work out gently with a small flat head and some hand leverage. The rest of the bumper snaps on. Make sure you have the 2 replacement plugs for the new front lip.

Looks beautiful. Did your car come with the skirts painted or did you paint those when you added the lip?

Definitely don't see too many cars with this lip. I love it!

Been thinking about adding the Speedster lip to my GTS as well, only painted in black as the skirts on mine aren't painted. I need to take a closer look to decide what shade of black to paint (glossy, matte, etc), but might just do this myself. Given it's a front lip and will feel the brunt of road debris, I'm not as concerned about the finish of the paint, and I think the side skirts are closer to matte (or really just not painted at all - exposed plastic), so want to replicate the look.

I had the same decision to make and I have to tell you that even with my side skirts unpainted, there is no way you can leave the lip unpainted. It looks so good painted as if it were part of the bumper, totally changes the look of the front of the car. After the winter I'll probably end up painting the skirts.

Thanks, but I'm really not a fan of the painted skirts/lip...to the point that I passed up on a few cars simply because the skirts/lip were painted. To me, the car looks sportier with the flat black skirts and lip...to me.

I think I'm going to order the lip (xmas gift to myself) and paint it a flat/matte black. The good thing about that is I won't be concerned about scratches and such as they won't show at all, and can always clean & paint over them if my OCD requires it.
