ALDO'S PERFORMANCE San Francisco, CA

Hey all...So a few weeks ago I took my car into the dealer aka stealer known as Livermore Porsche.... I had the Serpentine belt changed along with the alignment which came out to 800.00...Aside from that the Shop Manager felt like he wanted to drop some knowledge about misfiring cylinders and my headers and exhaust system being the culprit and possibly red flagging my warranty...To add insult to injury they quoted me 1200 to change spark plugs...Than the pulley failure happened on the bay bridge within 200 miles after Livermore Porsche's Service...From that point on I said I would look for a shop that would do awesome work at an awesome price...That's when I saw a few people who recommended Aldo...

I took my car into him for the 60k service along with a new clutch and flywheel...I was very impressed by his workmanship and the
iniative he took in insuring everything else with the car was in good condition...His prices were much lower than the dealers on labor and parts and he took the time to inspect and look after the small details such as a small noise that would come everytime the car started...I think this guy beats out a lot of the other shops and prices...Especially when a lot of other shops are not dealers but try to charge dealer prices...Not gonna put out names but their are a lot of shops out their are trying to get over because you have a Porsche and because they assume you don't know jack about cars...I did my research and made a lot of calls to the usuals as far as dealers and local shops...Most of the small shops had close to identical prices to the dealers..So why not just go to the dealer and get the car in the Porsche Mainteance system..

I highly recommend Aldo's performance give him a call he can definitely help you out and I'm sure he will beat most Dealers and Dealer price wannabes....

It's hard for me to relate to this post because I absolutely love the service guy that's been working on my 911s for 12 years. I get value for my money and whenever I used an independent way back when it was a disaster!!

You get what you pay for in life is how I look at things!!

Agree with you to point, Tom. I'm lucky to have a very good Indy nearby (I can walk home from his shop) and he does very good work. In fact, it's the local place that everyone knows about, plus all the sales guys at Porsche take their cars there so that says something I suppose! That said, basic service, brake flush, etc, I don't typically go to a dealer but if anything major were to go wrong (out of warranty) I'd have to give it more thought. (And part of this is because my local experience with service at dealers hasn't been anything special.)

I got same experience with the dealer in NJ which I used to do couple things on my car. They did alinement, and replaced my tires. First of all they were very sceptic when I gave them my specs for alinement and tires which were michelin pilot super sport. The messed up the alinement by being confused between degrees and minutes which afterwords I had to explain them how it works. Also wheels were scratched in many places and had a sealing paste all over. I ad to use paint thinner to remove that. I forgot to add that prices were premium. Its a shame that service wasn't...
