Any validity to this article?
Absurd article. I've had mine since new and it's been perfectly reliable. I changed the alternator cable for < $500 including parts and labor and recently the water pump. Nothing to write about as more mundane cars have cost me much more to repair.
I have a 2006 991S and I only had/have two problems. One was the coolant tank which cracked and a slow crank when the engine is hot, although it always starts up. Maybe there is something to the article.
Limited data on Porsche - use CR with caution ...

Article may have been influenced by Consumers Reports data ( see images ) .... one has to wonder on the water pump ... few vehicles these days have water pump issues ( I work in auto parts business - have access to sales data - wish more cars had problems ... sorry - my profit motive is showing ..:-)
