You might check into water transfer printing. It's the same technology used for cammo guns and other permanent designs. Super resilient and lots of surface designs to choose from. Even corporate aircraft completion centers are starting to use these as exotic wood veneers are becoming too expensive and the urethane finishes are more prone to surface damage. Many "carbon fiber" finishes being sold are really water transfers over non-carbon substrates such as fiberglass.
