Soft Lug Nut Socket Sleeve for [HRE] wheels

RE: Soft Lug Nut Socket Sleeve for [HRE] wheels

I have a set of 19" HRE P40's for my 997. I want to find a good socket set that will fit the P40's (and OEM wheels) and not mar the wheel. I have looked at a couple of socket sets with a protective sleeves (see below 2 options with links) but I dont know if they will fit the into the lug nut well of the P40's around the lug (not much room around the lug). Thought I might ask around for advise or guidance.

I wrap my wheel bolt socket w/ 'racer's tape'. It prevents marring the wheel bolt wells. Another thing I do is not use my pneumatic tool for my wheel removal/install. I do it the old fashion way . . . by hand (course w/ a breaker bar or 1/2"" ratchet).

I have the protective set from Griots and they are quite nice.

Great suggestion. Duh...!! Such an obvious solution. Took protective race tape and wrapped the socket a few times around and it works like a dream. Thanks AP!! Now I have extra $20 towards bilsteins.
