oil drain plug: 8mm hex or T50?
...or either one? They both seem to fit.

It is a Hex NOT a Torx.

OKB is infamous around these parts
it is a allen, the reason it is distorted, is the last guy overtightened it. It is aluminium and should be handled carefully.
You need to buy a new one and treat it right.
