2005 Carrera S Rev limit

What is the actual rev limit on a 2005 Carrera S in sport mode? I was driving about 100mph in 3rd with a Cayman r behind me not watching my shift point. I was looking in the rear view mirror instead....anyway I felt a cut in power (or can be described as a bounce? Realised I was at about 7,500 rpm.

I assume I hit the rev limiter? Would this do any damage? Car was fine rest of day

Thanks

most likely youre fine. do a search on here or over at RL. TONS of threads on this/overrevs. the bad ones are the "money shifts" - when youre shifting from 3rd and hit 2nd instead of 4th. no e-throttle cutout will help you on that one. yours was much more mild, exactly what the e-throttle cutoff was designed to do - save your engine from excessive overrevs.

no point getting worried about it as there is really nothing you can do (cost effectively) to check for damage except to drive it and hope everything is fine.
