2006 C4S - 48,000 miles

Just the alternator cable and regular maintenance (oil, filters, tires, pads, spark plugs, belt and 2 coils).

What was the issue with the oil pressure pump? I was never notified by my service advisor. Thanks.

With the introduction of Direct Fuel Injection, it requires an extremely powerful fuel pump and very sturdy lines. Porsche had some issues as well as many other manufacturers such as BMW, Audi and everybody else.

I am not convinced that this new technology really offers a decisive improvement in term of fuel consumption and efficiency. For certain, the failure rate of the pumps will be higher, whereas with regular fuel injection, a pump can last 150,000 miles and more.

28k miles on my '09 Targa - 17k of them are mine / 11k first owner.

HPFP replaced under warranty.

Clutch replaced 2k ago - guess the first guy didn't know quite how to use the 3rd pedal.

No issues.

I have two Porsches, a 2009 997.2, and a 1963 356 B T6 coupe.

The former has 30,000 miles, the latter 50,000 miles.

Neither burns oil, ever (I change at 3,000 mile / 12 month intervals).

Both are superbly engineered.

On the 997.2, "repairs" limited to HPFP (which I never even noticed / knew about) and clutch switch, which was quickly replaced at no cost.

I am in the market for a third Porsche - yes, they are that good.

24000 on my 09 C2S with only the HPFP issue taken care of. Mine never failed it was just replaced.

11000 miles on my 11 GTS with the PDK replaced at about 2000 miles because of a leak. Other than that the oil was changed at 2,000, 5,000 and 10,000.
