Use iron-x on your wheels every so often to get the embedded iron particles from the brake dust out of your wheels.

Sonax Full Effect is an amazing cleaner. You spray it on, wait 5 minutes and spray it off. It REALLY has a strong odor though, so do it outside with plenty of ventilation. Pricey, but effective for the full detail time.

I have a very effective wheel cleaning process.

First, I use my compressor to blow out all of the brake dust from the rotors. This keeps any rusty/dusty looking water from leaving spots later.

Second, rinse the wheels to get rid of any remaining loose brake dust.

Third, apply Meguiars Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner (or whatever wheel cleaner you like). Apply to one wheel and let it sit for about a minute.

Forth, clean the barrels with a brush like this

And clean the bolt holes with a brush like this

Rinse and move on to the next wheel.

Finally, blow dry thoroughly with a leaf blower.

One more optional and highly recommended step is to apply Armorall Wheel Protectant to keep them clean until the next wash.

I wash my wheels everytime I wash my car. However, I don't usually drive in the rain, so it's just a dust removal wash. Before I used the Armorall Wheel Protectant, my wheels would be very dusty before my car needed a wash. Now, by the time the Armorall Wheel Protectant has worn off and the wheels are dirty, the rest of the car is ready for a wash too. Cheers!

It's an Ace Turbo Stick. Web site link below. Have been using one for several years and they work exactly as advertised, and they contain no metal parts to harm your wheels. Great product and worth every penny.
