So, the interior on my 06 997s is starting to show its age. I've been thinking of giving it a facelift this spring. Doing the leather console is out of my budget for such an undertaking but I'm thinking about having Bumperplugs hook me up with some painted interior items.

Here's my issue... My exterior color is Gt Silver and I'd love to add some of that into my all black interior. The thought that keeps me cringing is the already present silver trim in the cabin. I think it would just look weird to have the gt silver console with the stock silver ebrake and the shift ring, door pulls, steering wheel and then we have another grey for the PCM.

So, I think I would either need to go with the gt silver console and then slowly replace all of the stock silver pieces with either gt silver or black. This is more work than I would like to get involved with.

Or, go with a glossy black painted console and keep the stock silver trim as it won't clash.
It would look way better than what I have but won't be a drastic change.

Thoughts?

 

Go with the silver console (to match the exterior) and see if it needs anything else. My bet is no. Then add a splash of color like Guards Red seat belts (front is enough)!

 

Red belts are nice just so pricey

 

They're not too bad if you only do the fronts. (I deleted my back seats)

 

How much were they for the fronts?

 

Max speed has a colored belt exchange program that's about half the cost of he oem. Might go for that.

 

I think your idea works, that is adding the GT Silver to the interior. Might be even better to use the silver that is already present interior-wise, on the center console. This would still contrast nicely with the rest of the interior and the exterior even though its a different shade of silver.

 

OK, So I'm leaning towards going with the black console. I found some photos and have them attached below. It just looks clean and simple to me.

 

You have the same issue as me. I think I'm going wth the non painted black items painted gloss black. Leave the stilver items as they are. i have silver exterior and black interior as you. I think the blak interior is very nice with the painted items. Going wih the silver pieces would get expensive as once you start, when do you stop? I'm thinking of having the armresst paintd blak and put a Porsche Emblem on it....that's different.
