obdII code P0456

Good afternoon,

I'm new to porsche (long time dreamer) as I purchased a 07 Carrera S.(pics soon to follow)

I've had the car for about 4 weeks now. and recently got this P0456 code, looked it up and found out its the EVAP small leak detected. Most likely cause is the fuel cap. I will check first thing in the morning. Is there somewhere else I should be looking also if the cap is not the culprit. I do have some mechanical experience but new to porsche. any help would be appreciated. Also does anyone know or have used the Durametric Enthusiast Kit to add a cd changer or delete the tpms?

thank you and glad to be a part of the Porsche community.

The pro kit can do this under the "coding" tab. Don't believe the enthusiast version supports coding though, sorry.

update, so I changed the fuel cap as the old one had a dried gasket. Check Eng. Light went off after a couple of cycles. A few weeks later.... it's on again!!! did I get a faulty gas cap or is there somewhere else I need to check?

Thanks for your help

evap fuel gas leaks are tricky to diagnose. pretty much, you have these problem areas:

gas cap
evap carbon canister
fuel gas lines
evap valve

I had that code on my car and the last thing I replaced was the culprit: the evap valve next to the throttle body.

this was after replacing the whole carbon canister. that was fun!

Below is the info on the code which may help. and as far as TPMS, you can turn it off with the dura-pro BUT you also need to remove the module (behind/near the brake booster?). there are DIY's here or on RL that i've seen. good luck.
