Replacing HVAC control - PIWIS needed?
Hello Gentlemen,
Thanks for all your help! I finally got some time to take the old a/c control group out of the car and swap the faceplate with the new unit I found cheap on Ebay. Worked like a charm, as they say! It's funny how something so small can make a big difference in how the interior looks and feels. The worn ***** reminded me of the interior of my '79 Chevy Chevette diesel - not exactly the sentiment I've been seeking in my Porsche!
Thanks again!
Pete

I ordered a new "Air Conditioning Control Unit" from Suncoast for my 2007 turbo because my fan and temp buttons were peeling. I received the new unit today and I just swapped it out and it worked like a champ. I didn't have the dealer activate it with PIWIS nor did I need to hook it up to a durametric system. It was a simple "plug and play". Looks so much better now. Those 2 flaky buttons really annoyed me.
