Dead battery - can't open trunk to charge

I had my 997 4S on a CTEK battery tender all winter. Went out to start it up to run the oil through and it was stone dead (not sure what happened to the tender!). I tried the manual's method of using a donor battery with the positive post in the fuse box, but it's not working. Ideas?

There should be a hook/pull on the passenger side door jam which activates a cable release of the frunk. Best to check your manual to confirm. Good luck!

There is a wire that's hidden behind the black lining inside the front wheel well on the drivers side. Peel back the lining ( you may need to take some screws out) and shine a flashlight to locate the wire. Once you find it, take a pair of pliers and pull on it...it's very hard to do by hand. This will pop the frunk open.

Didn't see the passenger side hook and the manual doesn't say anything about that. Going to try the wheel-well wire next. THanks.

happy ending

Pulled out part of that lining and didn't see any wire, but I tried the official method of hooking up a donor battery to the post in the fuse box yet again and this time instead of trying to use the lever on the side of the driver's seat, I pushed the button on the remote and held it down and the trunk popped open! Lesson learned. hilarious Now to get it charged up again.

Don't bother charging...your battery is toast. Time to replace.

You're right

My smart charger says the battery has an internal short. Good thing it's still under warranty -- replaced it last year.
