Guys. Don't waste your money. Just use standard 12 point socket. If I recall, I used 3/8" size (12 point socket) to remove my tips. The Torx screw is 6 point star so it will use every other points in the 12 point socket. My car is 2011 C2 with base tips. "S" tips use the same socket. Hope this helps.

The Lowe's "Kobalt Xtreme Access Series are 12 point sockets

Isn't this a wrench:

The original discussion was sockets but clearly that is a wrench. Have not seen that in my travels. That may be then perfect tool for what you need. Will reach out to gear wrench and discuss. Thanks for bringing that up as I was not aware they were making it.
Thanks

Why not just keep the stock exhaust, put it back on when you sell it?
I would rather buy a used car stock.

Hey Bill, thank you so much for going the extra mile and checking the size.

So, for future reference for all users of this forum:

To remove the exhaust tips of a 997.2, either "S" or "non-S", the tool needed is a External Torx E12 socket or wrench.

To my knowledge, E Torx key only comes in even numbers: 10, 12, 14, 16, 18.

Therefore, it must be E10 or E12. It is useful to have the whole series as these are widely used in German cars and specifically on Porsches.
