While under the cover for other reasons, I had my air cleaner out, and spied this hose that connects to the motor just under the alternator. The end of the hose shows a rust build up, and there was a small amount of water that had dripped from it, down toward the water pump.

Can someone tell me what this hose is, and what the significance of the leak would be? I looked through the 997 USA parts catalog, but could not identify this hose.

Really? All this wisdom, and no one has a clue?

 

IMO, relative to the oil cooled engines, the 997 is pretty new. Most of them are still under warranty, serviced my Indys/dealers and the owners are pretty hands-off.

Thus, knowledge is somewhat not as abundant in this forum as others. Sorry, I myself, though familiar with engines, am somwewhat lazy to look at the service manual. I look a it only when there's nothing in this forum.
